Sometimes, I love a rainy day, but only if I don’t have much to do and can just stay inside and cook or bake something tasty.

If I have a lot to do and lots of errands to run, I can truly dislike the rainy weather, especially if a few rainy days occur one after the other.

Rather than get all down-and-out about the weather, I thought I’d celebrate the rainy days with a tasty adult beverage.

Behold, the magical marionberry-rosemary concoction lovingly dubbed the Raindrop!

I can’t quite put my finger on what it is about this drink that tastes like home. But it does.

If you’re not familiar with Marionberries, you are missing out.

I think they are the result of a weird blackberry-hybrid-experiment-thing conducted at Oregon State University.

Wikipedia says they are actually called “Marion Blackberries,” but to me they taste quite different than regular blackberries. Closer to a huckleberry or a boysenberry I suppose.

I’ve been hardcore crushing on the Wild Roots Marionberry Vodka and the Wild Roots Raspberry Vodka produced by Wild Roots Vodka.

So, I thought I would do some difficult tasting experiments to create some great Wild Roots Vodka recipes.

They make some seriously tasty libations, so I hope you can find their products somewhere nearby. Honestly, it’s worth buying it just to admire the beautiful bottle!

If you can’t find it, try using a raspberry or blackberry flavored vodka as a substitute (or even cranberry if you like living on the edge).

I think this Raindrop drink is my new favorite rainy day cocktail. I love sipping on one on days when it is overcast and I need a reminder of why I love rainy days. Which would be a reminder to relax and enjoy each day.

It’s too cold to tell right now, but I have a suspicion that these would be super refreshing on a hot summer day, too. You know, during those few way-too-hot weeks of the year when you actually MISS the rain? Yep. Make yourself a cool, fresh Raindrop!
